RRC's GIS exports are shapefiles produced county by county from the Commission's own ArcSDE map system: surface and bottomhole well locations, the arcs joining them for directional and horizontal wells, patent survey lines and tracts, abandoned/liquid/gas pipelines, and a base map of roads, water features, cities and political boundaries.
Everything in this section is published in the Geographic projection in decimal degrees on the NAD27 datum (EPSG:4267), which is not what most web mapping expects — reproject before you overlay anything modern.
