Disclaimer

EZRRC is an independent mirror of public-domain data published by the Texas Railroad Commission. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the RRC. For any legal or regulatory purpose, verify against the official RRC release.

The underlying records are public-domain Texas government information. EZRRC claims no ownership of them and applies no licence of its own to them. The conversions, the catalog metadata, the code lookups, and the relationship mapping are our work and are published for free use.

Privacy

What we collect

  • Your email address, if you create an account. An account is needed only to download; browsing, previewing, and reading are open.
  • What you did on the site: pages viewed, searches, previews, cart changes, exports requested, and downloads taken. IP addresses are truncated before they are stored.
  • Your export requests: which dataset, which format, which filters. This is what lets us hand you the same file again without rebuilding it.
  • Where your visit began: the first page you opened on EZRRC and the address that sent you there, held in the ezrrc_landing cookie described below and copied onto your account if you sign up. It tells us which pages earn accounts.
  • What you tell us at signup, all of it optional: a name, an organization, a job title, a phone number, and what you use the data for.

What we do not do

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with anyone except the service providers named below and, only if you ask us to, the partners described next. We do not email you anything other than account and order messages unless you opt in to the update digest.

Partners

The signup form and your preferences page carry a box that reads "Partners may contact me about Texas oil & gas data and services". It is unticked unless you tick it. If you do, we may send your email address, name, organization, job title, phone number, stated use case, and the page and referrer your visit began on to a partner in the Texas oil and gas trade — a title company, a landman, a data vendor — at most once per partner, so that they can get in touch. Untick the box in your preferences to withdraw; nothing more is sent from that moment. What a partner has already received is theirs to hold under their own policy, and we will tell you which partners have your details if you write to support@ezrrc.com.

Cookies and third parties

  • A session cookie, which is what keeps you signed in and keeps your cart.
  • A CSRF cookie, which is a security requirement for any form submission.
  • ezrrc_landing, set on the first page you open and kept for 30 days. It holds that page's path and the referring address, signed so it cannot be altered, and no script can read it. It is used only to attribute a later signup, and it is not set at all if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
  • Google AdSense and Google Analytics, which set their own cookies and may use them for ad personalisation. Their handling is governed by Google's privacy policy, and ad personalisation can be turned off in your Google account settings.

How long we keep it

  • Account records: until you ask us to delete the account.
  • Activity records: 400 days, then dropped.
  • Generated export files: 30 days, then swept.

Your choices

Write to support@ezrrc.com to get a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have the account and its history deleted. Deletion is permanent and takes effect within thirty days.

Terms of use

The data

EZRRC is an unofficial mirror. The files here are provided as they are, with no warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any purpose, and the conversion process may differ from the Railroad Commission's own reading of its records. Anything with legal, financial, or regulatory consequence must be verified against the official RRC release. We are not liable for decisions made on the basis of what you download here.

Using the site

  • Take what you need. There is no restriction on what you do with the data itself, commercial use included.
  • Use the API rather than scraping the pages. It is free, it is documented, and it is faster for you. Automated traffic that degrades the site for other people may be rate-limited or blocked.
  • One account per person, with a real address you can receive mail at. Accounts that exist to evade rate limits may be suspended.
  • Do not present EZRRC output as an official Railroad Commission publication.

Availability

The service is free and offered without an availability commitment. Datasets can be withdrawn or change shape when the Railroad Commission changes what it publishes, and export links expire after 30 days.

Changes

Material changes to these terms will be announced on the site. Continuing to use EZRRC after that is acceptance of them. Questions go to support@ezrrc.com.
